Curmudgeonly me

Halloween is not my favorite holiday but I have quilted several cute Halloween quilts lately.  This was made by Mary who always has does an excellent job on her applique, this time it is machine applique.  I really like the whimsical pumpkin-houses.

Mary says these bats will have orange crystals for eyes and there are buttons to add now that it is quilted.

I'm one of those curmudgeonly people that turn out the lights and hide on Halloween.  At least, that's what I did last year.  When I do buy Halloween candy I have to buy icky candy so I don't eat it - like Sweet Tarts or Nerds.  Ick.

  2. I don't enjoy Halloween either but some of the Halloween quilts I've seen lately are cute. Nice quilting job! I especially like the upper left block with the smoke curling out of the chimney.

  3. What a neat quilt, and this from a really irascible Halloween curmudgeon. I adore the ghosties in the block you featured, and I love your quilting. As usual! We buy one bag of Snickers -- the only candy we eat, and only occasionally -- and after giving them out, we turn off the light and hide in the back room. Lately we've been going to a movie instead. Thanks for sharing this wonderful quilt.
